Bill Belichick was spotted at the NBA Eastern Conference Finals last night with his girlfriend Linda Holliday. If you have a good memory you know that the Patriot’s head coach first cozied himself up to her while she not yet divorced from her husband; Coach Belichick likes ‘em married.

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen pictures of Linda Holliday but let’s just say she’s ‘well endowed.’ The picture that I saw today is of a tanned Holliday standing up in a somewhat tight fitting light peach top with Belichick standing in the background, arms folded, eyes glaring across the frame like the intense freak that he is. Fernando Tatis was the hero last night in the Mets 7-6 extra inning victory over the Marlins. Although his status as a hero will probably be short lived in ‘what have you done for me lately’ New York, he still remains a hero in his homeland, the Dominican Republic. Tatis is best known for being a flash in the pan, one hit wonder but has overcome an incredible amount of injuries to be an important contributing factor for the Mets this season.

Fernando Tatis was originally signed as an amateur free agent by the Texas Rangers at the age of 17, in his hometown of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. Like many other young Dominican ballplayers, Tatis was a good hitter but also a free swinger. The economic conditions in the Dominican Republic, being as bleak as they are, only drive young players to push themselves harder to impress the American scouts watching them. This has encouraged a slew of aggressive free swinging Dominican players because they are told the only way out of their situations is to hit, hit, hit. So they do but strike out an awful lot in the process. This is not being racist, this is reality. Read the rest of this entry »

Rachael Ray’s kiffiyeh Dunkin’ Donuts ad has made her a target of right-wing pundits today, most notably Fox News commentator Michelle Malkin. A rare misstep for Ray who up until now has enjoyed a squeaky clean, successful career as a Food Network star, TV talk show host, and much sought after product spokesperson. I find it hard to believe that wearing a kiffiyeh could nullify the girl-next-door image that she has worked so carefully to cultivate since her days on the Food Network show, $40 a Day. It just seems like another feeble attempt by ultra-conservatives to further their own political agendas.

Malkin took offense to Ray wearing the kiffiyeh and and even threatened to start a boycott of the popular donut chain. She writes in her syndicated column that,”The kiffiyeh, for the clueless, is the traditional scarf of Arab men that has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad.” Read the rest of this entry »

Hall of Fame 49ers quarterback Joe Montana is suing his first wife Kim Moses because she decided to auction off Joe Montana memorabilia without his consent. The two haven’t been married for quite awhile and it’s sad to see these kinds of lawsuits come up after a breakup but they do happen. No I’m not Joe Montana but I have had my fair share of breakups. I was surprised to hear they didn’t have a prenuptial agreement but I guess Kim Moses married him before he was a big time NFL quarterback who could just sell a Joe Montana autographed football if he needed a new car. If you’re too young to know who he is, do yourself a favor and go get a copy of a Joe Montana biography and read up on a legend. Like I said, I’ve had my fair share of breakups but I’ve never had to sue a girlfriend or sue Kim Moses like Montana had to. Maybe his wife needed the money or maybe she was just trying to spite Joe. Who knows what Joe Montana’s wife did? The point is you should have a plan on how to divvy your belongings up in the case of a breakup. Maybe you get the widescreen TV and she gets the couch. The espresso maker is hers but you definitely get to keep your football card collection. If you follow that simple guideline you won’t have to go through a messy lawsuit like some NFL superstars have to. Read the rest of this entry »
