David Babaii has not always been a celebrity hairdresser, in fact he started his professional career in the International Hotel and Resort industry; a fact that not everybody knows. It would take a lot of courage to walk away from such a lucrative position and decide to style hair for a living. If you were David Babaii, would you have walked away from such a high paying job to pursue a dream of being a celebrity hairdresser? I doubt many of us would and I give him a lot of credit for not only doing it but being successful at it as well. Read the rest of this entry »

From Nobody To Reality TV Magazine Fodder

It was thinking today that it must be weird being a reality semi-celebrity like Kelly Jo Kuharski. I would never have the nerve or the interest to go on a reality television show. Would you want your life scrutinized daily by a reality tv magazine? I value my privacy very highly. There’s no way that I would allow cameras into my personal life, each of them following my every move. A reality show like The Bachelor is the worst of it’s breed and the last one I’d imagine I’d ever want to be on (or I guess for me it would be The Bachelorette). Imagine being dumped in front of millions of viewers and reading about it the next week in a reality tv magaine! Kelly Jo Kuharski doesn’t have to imagine though, she lived it. Tim Beckham was the first player selected today, in Major League Baseball’s amateur draft, by the Tampa Bay Rays who have surprised many this year by competing for first place in the standings while increasing their sales of baseball tickets as well. The shortstop out of Griffin High School in Georgia can now say he is one of only a hand selected few players to be taken with the number one draft pick out of high school. What remains to be seen is whether or not Tim Beckham will develop into a big league caliber player for the major league team who has had trouble in the past selling baseball tickets. I almost forgot about Rich Eisen until all of this Alycia Lane hoopla surfaced recently. While I’ve been a longtime fan of Sportscenter, by no means was Rich Eisen my favorite anchor. That honor would have to go to Keith Olbermann or Craig Kilbourn with Dan Patrick a close third. Regrettably, none of the three aforementioned gentlemen work on the Big Show anymore. Keith Olbermann has his own news and talk show on MSNBC, Craig Kilbourn was the original host of “The Daily Show” and later went on to host “The Late, Late Show” and Rich Eisenis now an announcer for the NFL Network. Shooting for the Tom Cruise Nazi movie, “Valkyrie” will resume in the next three week, with the Hollywood star filming the movies’ final three scenes in North Africa. The Hollywood star has come under fire the past few years for his close ties to Scientology. Scientology has long been vilified in Germany and their has been much talk about this new movie there.

Once again the actor is going against popular Hollywood convention, which leaves the question, “Are movie goers going to pay money to go see a Tom Cruise Nazi movie?” Much like his role in“The Last Samurai”, Tom Cruise’s role in “Valkyrie” is not one a highly paid A-list star would usually take on. I don’t live in the state of New York but I just heard about Krockathon at Weedsport Speedway on July 19th and now I’m interested in going to see this Syracuse event. I usually go to a few music festivals every summer but have never heard of this one. Is this the first year that Krockathon has been held or is this a classic Syracuse event? I’d really like to buy a ticket for this show but I’m trying to decide whether this is a good use of my money or not as I haven’t listened to all of the bands on the list. Do you think I should make the trip and see this show or just go to one that’s not as far away as Syracuse? Read the rest of this entry »

I just watched the Candleshoe DVD after receiving it in the mail, thank god for being able to rent dvds online. When I’m bored and there’s nothing on television, I’m thankful that there are online dvd rental service. Since I have the two at a time plan I always have something to watch and don’t have to worry about being entertained.

Unless you’re living underneath a rock, you have seen the ads to rent dvds online but is it really a good deal? It really depends on how much you want to be entertained and how many movies you watch per month. Read the rest of this entry »
